Ozzie and Tayto

Ozzie and Tayto – August Dogs of the Month

Ozzie and Tayto – August Dogs of the Month. These two shaggy angels are a force to be reckoned with! Ozzie and Tayto not only win in the cutest category but also the fun category! Between their “human sitting” and  brother and sister antics, we couldn’t wait to feature them as our dogs of the month! Read more about these two siblings below:
1) When and where did you get Ozzie and Tayto?

Ozzie and Tayto were born into the same litter on March 7th, 2018 in St. Charles, IL.  At just 9 nine weeks, Ozzie, being more independent and confident in nature, decided it was time to move to the big city of Chicago.  We were blessed to have Ozzie find our home to his liking and the neighborhood filled with enough opportunities to meet the ladies (aka bitches).  Tayto is more of a home body so it took her a little longer to venture out into the big wide world.  It wasn’t until January of this year, she felt it was time to venture downtown and join our motley crew on Racine Avenue.

2) What is your favorite thing about your babies?

Their personalities hands down.  These two babies emanate the stereotypical young boy and girl.  Ozzie is a giant meathead who loves to knock on doors with his noggin, rummage through laundry (the dirtier the better!) , and eat anything that crosses his snoot including flying butterflies.  We hear they’re a great source of protein.  Meanwhile, Tayto is a delicate flower who will talk (or bark) your ear off when you’re at home about everything that went on that day, doesn’t eat every meal because she’s watching her girlish figure and has her daddy wrapped around her finger.  Their personalities certainly keep mom and dad occupied and entertained!

3) If you could describe their life attitude in one sentence, what would it be?

Ozzie: Feed me

Tayto: Love me

4) Tell us about Ozzie and Tayto’s breed and why you chose them!

It was love at first site.  We’d never heard of the breed before, but ran into someone who had a Glen puppy and it melted our hearts.  That night we went home and did our research.  Ozzie and Tayto are Glen of Imaal Terriers, one of the rarest breeds in the world.  It is a rare breed originating from Ireland with the original purpose of the breed being to hunt badgers.  For more information, please feel free to visit our breeders website at  In the end, it was the loving yet strong-willed, tough and curious nature of these animals that convinced us this breed was for us.

5) Tell us a cute/funny story about Ozzie and Tayto?

This isn’t necessarily a cute or funny story per se, but more of a fun fact.  Ozzie and Tayto take their act on the road from time to time and attend local dog shows.  At their most recent event, Ozzie won Best of Breed and Tayto won Best of Opposite.  They’re doing a great job representing their breed apparently!
