Featured Walker: Daniella

Daniella Aranda

Daniella is one of our Bucktown walkers and on-call managers! She has been working with DDI since fall of 2014  and we couldn’t be happier to have her! She goes above and beyond for her clients and has an unconditional love for all her pups! Daniel, New Client Manager, recalled  last winter  he had to meet up with her to drop off a key. When he had arrived he noticed her jacket was on the dog. When he asked why, she simply said the dog was cold and thought the jacket would warm him up. This type of selflessness is innate and Daniel was wowed by that simple act of kindness, especially in the dead of winter!

Check out her interview below!

Why did you decided to become a dog walker?

I had been working as an office coordinator and juggling school for about a year. Being in front of the computer monitor, tucked away in a corner office and telling people they forgot to sign this and forgot to mark that was “safe”, but unfulfilling and tedious. I only had real joy when at school, because I was able to work with animals. Animals have always been a part of my life.  Once the opportunity struck to spend my work time with wagging tails and slobbery kisses; it was an easy choice.

What is your favorite thing about this job?

My favorite thing about my “job” would be to feel the joy of a pup greeting you with so much honest happiness and excitement! That feeling you get when you come home after a long day to see your best four legged friend, I feel that every time I walk in for a walk. : ) Every time someone asks what I do for a living I proudly answer, “dog walker.” Sometimes I get delighted surprise reactions; other times a tilted confused look, haha! DDI gets that my happiness comes from making animals happy. It’s that simple!

Tell us about your passions/hobbies!

I like art and all beautiful meaningful things inside and out. I have been learning a native language called Purepecha or Tarasco. These wonderful, humble people respect mother nature and wild life down to their core. It has motivated me to live a greener way. School also lets me learn and volunteer at a vet/humane society, where I get to spend even more time with all types of animals!

What would you like our readers/clients to know most about you?

I would want my readers/clients to know their dogs’ happiness and well being come first. My whole life revolves around caring for animals from a very young age. I was a sickly child and suffered from epilepsy and animals helped me so much, emotionally.  Whenever I was afraid of trying new things simply because I was told “I couldn’t” due to my condition, animals protected and helped me at my lowest. So now it’s my turn to protect and help them whenever and however  I can. : )

Thank you Daniella! We love you!
