Marti is one of those walkers who performs at 110% no matter the day or weather. She works in the Park West territory, and one of our busier walkers. Both of her trainers, and fellow dog walkers, Greg & Masalah, both agreed in saying, “She was really excited to be working outside and has a genuine love for the puppers!” Marti is always prepared for a busy day and manages her schedule so well. She has been an amazing addition in the DDI family and we are all grateful and honored to have her!

Why did you decide to become a dog walker?
I went to school for music and after I graduated I spent quite a while looking for a job that would allow me the time and energy to pursue my musical interests in addition to working. I tried a few things before dog walking was recommended to me and it sounded too good to be true! Getting to be outside on my bike all day and hanging out with dogs while having a regular schedule to work my gigs around has been just as good as it sounded and I never feel too emotionally drained to give both jobs my all.
What is your favorite thing about the job? and DDI?
My favorite thing about the job is definitely all of the dog friends I get to have. I’ve loved getting to know them all and am just as excited to see them everyday as they are to see me and go for a walk. Getting to be outside in the city and on my bike all day is a very close second though! My favorite thing about DDI is the support I get from Lauren and the management. They are always so helpful and willing to work with me on any scheduling things that come up or issues I might have throughout the day. Having great people in charge makes it so easy to do my job well and I always feel appreciated.

I play the french horn and studied music performance at DePaul. I get to play in lots of different groups as a freelancer- I do plays and orchestra pits as well as full orchestras, wind ensembles, brass quintets and folk music. I also love baking cupcakes!
What would you like our readers/clients to know most about you?
How much their dogs make my day! I really look forward to seeing them every day and can’t stop talking about the funny and sweet things they do when I get home. I love all of their personalities and getting to know and bond with each dog is such a wonderful part of the job.
